5The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 6The sons of Gomer: Ashʹkenaz, Diphath, and Togarʹmah. 7The sons of Javan: Eliʹshah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Roʹdanim.
8The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. 9The sons of Cush: Seba, Havʹilah, Sabta, Raʹama, and Sabʹteca. The sons of Raʹamah: Sheba and Dedan. 10Cush was the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
11Egypt was the father of Ludim, Anʹamim, Lehaʹbim, Naph-tuʹhim, 12Pathruʹsim, Casluʹhim (whence came the Philistines), and Caphʹtorim.
13Canaan was the father of Sidon his first-born, and Heth, 14and the Jebʹusites, the Amorites, the Girʹgashites, 15the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, 16the Arʹvadites, the Zemʹarites, and the Haʹmathites.
17The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachʹshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech. 18Arpachʹshad was the father of Shelah; and Shelah was the father of Eber. 19To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg (for in his days the earth was divided), and the name of his brother Joktan. 20Joktan was the father of Almoʹdad, Sheleph, Hazarmaʹveth, Jerah, 21Hadorʹam, Uzal, Diklah, 22Ebal, Abimʹa-el, Sheba, 23Ophir, Havʹilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.
24Shem, Arpachʹshad, Shelah; 25Eber, Peleg, Reʹu; 26Serug, Nahor, Terah; 27Abram, that is, Abraham.
28The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishʹmael. 29These are their genealogies: the first-born of Ishʹmael, Nebaʹioth; and Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 30Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, 31Jetur, Naphish, and Kedʹemah. These are the sons of Ishʹmael. 32The sons of Ketuʹrah, Abraham’s concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midʹian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan. 33The sons of Midʹian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abiʹda, and Eldaʹah. All these were the descendants of Ketuʹrah.
34Abraham was the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel. 35The sons of Esau: Elʹiphaz, Reuʹel, Jeʹush, Jalam, and Korah. 36The sons of Elʹiphaz: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amʹalek. 37The sons of Reuʹel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
38The sons of Seʹir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibʹeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. 39The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna. 40The sons of Shobal: Alʹian, Manʹahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibʹeon: Aʹiah and Anah. 41The sons of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. 42The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaʹavan, and Jaʹakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
43These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites: Bela the son of Beʹor, the name of whose city was Dinʹhabah. 44When Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead. 45When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Teʹmanites reigned in his stead. 46When Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who defeated Midʹian in the country of Moab, reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Avith. 47When Hadad died, Samlah of Masreʹkah reigned in his stead. 48When Samlah died, Shaul of Rehoʹboth on the Euphraʹtes reigned in his stead. 49When Shaul died, Baʹal-haʹnan, the son of Achbor, reigned in his stead. 50When Baʹal-haʹnan died, Hadad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Paʹi, and his wife’s name Mehetʹabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Meʹzahab. 51And Hadad died.
The chiefs of Edom were: chiefs Timna, Alʹiah, Jetheth, 52Oholibaʹmah, Elah, Pinon, 53Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 54Magʹdiel, and Iram; these are the chiefs of Edom.
